Introduction
The following table lists tidal power stations that are currently under construction as of the date in each cited source. There are two main types of tidal energy technology: tidal stream generators and tidal barrages. Eco Wave Power, which has pioneered wave-power installations in Israel and Gibraltar, unveiled plans this year for a pilot wave-power project that will, in coming months, extract power from ocean waves at the AltaSea campus — within the Port of Los Angeles — to generate electricity. The initiative, situated along the Turlock Irrigation District’s (TID) canals in Central California, marks a significant step.
