Peak shaving refers to reducing electricity demand during peak hours, while valley filling means utilizing low-demand periods to charge storage systems. A significant contradiction exists between the two goals of minimum costnd minimum load peak-to-valley difference. kWp represents the theoretical peak output of the system, used as a measure to compare one system against another.
