Introduction

The Power Control System (PCS) is a critical component in ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) 705. 13, which governs the integration of on-site power sources, such as solar and battery systems, with the utility grid. ISEP meets the industry’s need for a resource that contains the solar energy-related provisions from the 2021 International Codes and NFPA 70®, National Electrical Code® (NEC®), 2020, and selected standards in one document. At the March 2023 SEAC general meeting, SEAC Assembly Member and Enphase Energy Director of Codes & Standards Mark Baldassari presented on the technical. SEIA standards apply to solar and energy storage sourcing, manufacturing, transportation, design, installations, operations, and recycling.
